Rapper/mogul Diddy has come to the Bieber’s defense and says he deserves the award nomination. Diddy “Dirty Money” is scheduled to host the award show. The nominees were announced last week at a press conference. The 2010 BET Awards airs on June 27th. video source Pop star Justin Bieber may be raising eyebrows for receiving a BET award nomination, but Diddy’s got his back. “The awards are important to hip hop and to show [hip-hop artists] in the right light,” the mogul said at the network press conference on Tuesday. “But the beauty of BET is, if Justin Bieber’s hot, then he deserves to be on that stage,” said Diddy. “Sometimes, at other award shows, the color of your skin or the type of music you make takes away from getting the accolade you deserve.” Diddy also gushed that this year’s host, Queen Latifah, earned her spot as well. LINDSAY LOHAN ORDERED TO STAY OFF BOOZE AND DRUGS Posted: 25 May 2010 06:37 AM PDT Lindsay Lohan avoided jail. Lilo was ordered to not drink booze and give up drugs while wearing a SCRAM ankle bracelet device. Lindsay Lohan will be sporting a new accessory on her ankle: At a Los Angeles court hearing Monday, the actress was ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet, called a SCRAM device. Lohan will also be subject to weekly random drug testing and is forbidden from drinking any alcohol as conditions for the actress to remain free on bail. Lohan, 23, showed up in court looking nervous, wearing a black business suit with her hair back in a ponytail and was accompanied by her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley. She was 10 minutes late to the scheduled 8:30 a.m. hearing – but L.A. Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel accepted the attorney’s explanation that the delay was due to security concerns caused by the media crowd outside the courthouse. After Judge Revel set the conditions, Lohan’s attorney said her client “is prepared to demonstrate by action that she’s going to comply with all court orders.” But Holley added that Lohan has “an upcoming number of photo shoots” and was due to begin filming in Texas for an upcoming movie role and asked that in lieu of the ankle bracelet, Lohan be subject to random alcohol testing as well since the device would interfere with filming. “It would allow her to make a living,” Holley explained. The judge flatly denied the request. Lohan’s only words in court were “Yes, your honor,” when asked if she understood the conditions. The judge also warned Lohan that a missed drug test “is the same as a dirty test” and ordered her to continue attending alcohol education courses once a week. The actress will be fitted with the bracelet in the next 24 hours. This will be the second time Lohan has worn the device. She voluntarily wore one three years ago following her first DUI arrest and a stint in rehab. The SCRAM bracelet can detect traces of alcohol through the wearer’s perspiration and must be worn at all times. Tampering with it triggers an alarm to authorities. It remains unclear whether Lohan violated probation or not. Although Lohan received a positive report from the class earlier this month, the judge had ordered Lohan to attend the class “once a week without fail.” If found in violation, the L.A. DA is seeking up to six months in jail for the actress. A new hearing date, to determine if she violated the terms of her probation, was set for July 6. Lohan pulled a no-show at her hearing last Thursday because her passport was allegedly stolen while at the Cannes Film Festival. An arrest warrant issued Thursday was dismissed after she posted $100,000 bail. Lohan returned to L.A.
