Kanye West knows know to turn it out, so it's no surprise that the world's most fashion-conscious rapper looked rather dapper at the New York premiere of his film "Runaway" (and by film, we mean long-form music video that's been likened to Michael Jackson's epic "Thriller"). "Runaway" stars model Selita Ebanks as a phoenix who falls to Earth, only to have Kanye fall in love with her feathered self. Nine songs from his upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (yes, the one with the banned cover) are featured in the 35-minute flick.
Kanye held premieres for the film across the country this week, but we think he looked particularly fly on New York's red carpet, where he donned a velvet tuxedo jacket and black high-tops. His bling was reminiscent of what he wore during his amazing SNL performance, and of course his diamond teeth were on display.
Selita — who also gets a mention in Kanye's "Christian Dior Denim Flow" and retweets her rumored boyfriend — looked stunning, as per usual. She wore a long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder gray Calvin Klein minidress. While her jewels didn't top Kanye's, the dress sparkled in its own right and was paired with platform ankle-strap pumps. Red lips added a pop of color to the ensemble.
Side note: we weren't invited to any of the fancy premieres, but we'll be glued to our seats when the film debuts tonight at 8 p.m. EST on MTV, MTV2 and BET. And for the internet-inclined, it will also be streaming live on MTV.com, BET.com and VH1.com.
