Oscar winning actress, Halle Berry, attended a special AFI Fest conversation series last night at the Grauman theater. Halle is getting Oscar buzz for her upcoming role in Frankie & Alice.
Halle Berry chatted about her career last night during “A Conversation With Halle Berry,” part of AFI Fest, happening now in Hollywood. Berry said she was happy her new movie, Frankie & Alice, about a woman who has a multiple personality disorder that includes a racist white woman alter-ego, has gotten a release date of Dec. 17, enabling it to be considered for the Oscars. Lil Wayne celebrated being a free man in Las Vegas over the weekend with a lavish Cash Money party. TMZ reports that Wayne wanted to party like a rock star at the Wynn Hotel but he was banned from using the facility.
Lil Wayne has criss-crossed the country since getting out of jail last week — but there is one place he couldn’t get into this weekend … the Wynn Las Vegas. Lil Wayne joined Drake on stage at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas on Saturday night …. but sources tell us Weezy was a no-show at the after-party located in the Wynn Las Vegas … and it wasn’t his choice.
We’re told a rep for the Wynn informed a member of Drake’s entourage that Lil Wayne would not be allowed on the property — and if he tried to enter, he’d be removed.
As for why Wayne was persona non grata — sources tell us Wynn execs didn’t want any trouble … knowing Wayne is on a very short legal leash, i.e. no booze for three years.
The ban never became an issue … a rep for Weezy tells us he chilled at the Palms Casino Resort and was not “scheduled” to appear at any events. A rep for the Wynn had no comment. [TMZ]
Lil Wayne has more baby mama drama. Weezy was hit with a paternity claim and must take a test at Riker’s Island. Wayne already has 4 children with 4 different baby’s mama’s. SMH.
Newly-freed rapper LIL WAYNE is facing a paternity battle following his release from jail – a Missouri woman filed court papers during his incarceration alleging he fathered a child back in 2002.
The hip-hop star was released from prison last week (04Nov10) after serving eight months of a year-long sentence on weapons possession charges.
In August (10), while he was in jail, he was served with a legal letter demanding he submit to a DNA test to determine whether he fathered an eight-year-old boy with an unnamed Missouri woman.
The child’s grandmother obtained an order from a judge which required the Lollipop hitmaker to take a paternity test before 10 September (10), but as the star was behind bars at the time, the deadline was pushed back until 9 December (10), according to TMZ.com. [CONTACT MUSIC]
Kanye West unleashed a twitter rant about his treament by Today Show host Matt Lauer. The rapper said he felt that he was not treated well during his Today show appearance and no longer trusted the press. Kanye did get a chance to apologize to former President George W. Bush about his Hurricane Katrina comments that “George Bush doesn’t like Black people.” George Bush said that he accepted Kanye’s apology.
Apparently West wasn’t too pleased with his treatment when he got to the studio, but we’ll let him explain in a series of angry tweets:
“Man I’m heading to Abu Dhabi finna go to Ferrari Land YESSSS!!! ….but before I take off let me tell you how they did me at the Today show… I went up there to express how I was empathetic to Bush because I labeled him a racist and years later I got labeled as a racist…. While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the “MTV” under me with audio!!!!!!!”
Oh man, not The MTV. That’s what our grandmother calls it, too. She also talks about The Twitter, The Glee Show, and The Floppy-Haired Boy With The Nice Voice. (That last one is Justin Bieber.)
But we digress. Kanye’s not finished: “I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show … and that’s a very nice way for me to put it! HE TRIED TO FORCE MY ANSWERS. IT WAS VERY BRUTAL AND I CAME THERE WITH ONLY POSITIVE INTENT. I feel very alone very used very tortured very forced very misunderstood very hollow very very misused. I don’t trust anyone but myself! Rihanna performed her hit “Only Girl In the World” on X Factor in Italy. The “Umbrella” singer wore a floral bikini with her red hair in a long pony tail.
The singer started her performance swinging on a long blonde plait that connected two models who were dressed like heroine from the famous Brothers Grimm story. And not to be outdone by her two fair maidens, Rihanna’s long red locks hung sexily down her right shoulder. The 22-year-old also showed off her curvaceous figure in a floral bikini as she strutted her stuff and sang her latest single The Only Girl (In The World). She then appeared to take inspiration from another children’s story as her male dancers surrounded her clutching brooms.
In a scene reminiscent of the chimney sweep dance from Mary Poppins, her dancers leapt and pranced around waving their brooms in their air and incorporating the tools into the routine. It was Rihanna’s second TV talent show appearance in just over a week after she appeared, singing the same song on the British X Factor on October 30.
